Welcome to Pedantic Handwavium! For our first episode we’re jumping straight into the deep end and discussing Star Wars. We already hear you asking, “How many scientific issues could there possibly be in something as solid as Star Wars?” Well, don’t you worry, there are so many. In this special hour long inaugural episode we discuss simple problems such as how explosions happen in space and why you hear it. We also find other simple explanations on why blasters make so much noise when you shoot them and when the shots ricochet off of things. You also get to hear Geoff poke so many holes in how Simon suggests hyperspace and lightsabers might work. And finally we get into an argument about the force, why it insists on balance, and how midichlorians might be related.
